Dolores “Lori” Jean Adams, 79, joined her late husband Walter Adams in heaven on the morning of April 24, 2018.
Lori was born in Mantorville, Minnesota on July 13, 1938 to Immanuel and Dorothy Hohenstein. She was baptized on August 21, 1938 at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Loretto, MN and confirmed in July 1953 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson, MN. She graduated from Clintonville High School, studied education and received her Bachelors in Science at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and was a beloved kindergarten teacher for many years teaching in Manitowoc, Wauwatosa Schools (Wilson, Madison, and Eisenhower), and Waucousta Lutheran School in Campbellsport. She and her husband raised their daughters in the Kettle Moraine Forest, where her husband was Superintendent of the Forest, and in rural Campbellsport, Wisconsin.
Lori is remembered for her warm smile, lovely cheerful demeanor, and her strong faith in God.
Lori loved listening to music, playing the piano, photography, spending time with her family and friends, and volunteering at her church. Lori was a past member of the choir and Pioneer Ladies at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee and a past member of the choir and Dorcas society at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Campbellsport. Lori enjoyed her vacations which included Europe and traveling to Alaska, Hawaii and especially California. Lori loved spending time in California and having slumber parties with her grandchildren. She spent the last year and a half of her life in California with her family. Although Lori was bravely battling cancer during this time, she always had a beautiful smile on her face.
Lori is preceded by her husband Walter J. Adams, her brother Lloyd Hohenstein, her mother Dorothy Hohenstein, and her father Immanuel Hohenstein.
Lori is survived by her daughters Kristi Adams of Toluca Lake, CA, and Susan (Matt) Bett of Santa Clarita, CA and her granddaughters, Jasmine, Ashlyn, Isabelle & Sophia Bett, her sister-in-law Virginia Hohenstein of Watertown, WI and many nieces and nephews of Elkorn, WI, Horicon, WI, and Watertown, WI, Appleton, WI and Eckert, CO and 20 grand nieces and nephews as well friends.
A visitation will be held for Lori Adams on Sunday, May 6, 2018 starting at 2 pm and a service will be held at 4 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St., Campbellsport, WI. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and burial will be Monday, May 7, 2018 in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Casco, WI.
