Leo C. Lohse, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at his home with his family gathered around him. He was born on January 14, 1943, the son of Louis J. and Dorothy R. (Kohlman) Lohse. On August 23, 1986, Leo married JoAnne M. Bunkelman at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Campbellsport. Leo started his lifelong driving career with Spector Freight out of Fond du Lac driving semi then TTI out of Eden. Leo then purchased his own semi as an owner-operator and lastly drove gravel truck for Michels Inc. for over 25 years. Leo also owned Leo & Joanne’s Kettleaire in Dundee with his wife. Leo enjoyed shooting pool along with hunting and fishing, hobby farming, gardening and especially helping out his son-in-law anytime they needed help on their farm. He always looked forward to spring to get out on his motorcycle and watching the hummingbirds at the feeders. He always made sure the feeders had plenty of nectar in them by the 1st of May. Even during the treatments and surgeries, he always told the doctors they needed to get him well before deer season so he could go deer hunting which he always managed to do. The one thing Leo was most proud of during his life was his two daughters and son.
Those left behind to cherish Leo’s memory include his beloved wife of 31 years JoAnne, children Kim (Mike) Welsh, Karla (Paul) Kohlmann and Kirk Lohse, grandchildren Courtney and Jared Kohlmann, former wife Judy Lohse, step mother Eleanoris Woodley Lohse, mother-in-law Anna Bunkelman, sister Arlene Wetzel, brothers Darwin (Dianne) Lohse and Danny (Vicki) Lohse, step brother Scott (Jean) Woodley, sisters-in-law Jane Weyenberg, Nancy (John) Kreil and Lila (Mike) Schneider, brother-in-law Tim (Dawn) Bunkelman, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
