Gerald “Bud” W. Venski, 100, formerly of Dundee passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Waterford of West Bend. He was born on May 8, 1918 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Florian and Erma (nee Muckerheide) Venski. Bud served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from December 1942 to January 1946. On September 29, 1946, Bud married Lois Dailey at St. Michael’s Church in Milwaukee. Bud managed A & P grocery stores in Milwaukee before operating Bud’s Trading Post in New Prospect and then Bud’s General Store in Dundee. After retiring Bud worked at Coast to Coast Hardware in Campbellsport and Raindance Car Wash in Kewaskum. He was a member of St. Mathias Church, New Fane and enjoyed bowling and horseshoes.
Survivors include his children Carol (Rod) Van Alstine, Dennis (Cheryl) Venski, Michael (Patti) Venski, John Venski and Judie (Russ) Kraemer, grandchildren Wade (Jen) Van Alstine, Eric (Kayo) Venski, Nealy O’Brien, Amy Venski, Scott (Allie) Venski, Staci (Danny) Kinney, Jake Venski, Jack Venski, Jamie Kraemer and Jennifer Kraemer, great grandchildren Drew and Dylan Van Alstine and Layla, Riley, Logan, Ashlynn and Joslynn Venski nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, son Thomas, granddaughter Tasha and seven siblings.
There will a visitation on Saturday, May 4th beginning at 11:00 am with a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in St. Mathias Cemetery in the Town of Auburn with Military Rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Friends of the Kettle Moraine are appreciated.
